Bishop O’Reilly’s Visit

 

Our new Bishop, Kieran O’Reilly will pay his first Pastoral visit to the East of the Shannon part of the Diocese on Friday 24th September. There will be a special Mass to welcome him and pray that his ministry as Bishop will be fruitful and fulfilling. Mass will be at 7.30pm in St Mary of the Rosary Church and all are welcome to attend. There will  be an opportunity to meet Bishop O’Reilly in the Parish Centre after Mass. So lets have a good turn out to welcome Bishop Kieran on his first official visit to Nenagh.

 

Rambling House - Apology

Owing to the Mass with our new Bishop on the 24th September, and the meeting afterwards in our Pastoral Centre, Rambling House has been postponed to the last Friday in October. Sorry for any inconvenience cause and we look forward to seeing you then. D.V.

Medjugorje Afternoon Prayer recommences on Monday 6th September at 4pm in the Day Care Centre.  All are welcome.

 

Prayer before Mass Go before us, O Lord, in this our sacrifice of prayer and praise and grant what we sing and say with our lips, we may believe in our hearts and what we believe in our hearts we may practice and show forth in our daily lives.  Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Have you a Baby for Baptism?

Next meeting to prepare for the Sacrament of Baptism will be held in the Pastoral Centre, this  Monday 6th September at 7.30pm.Please bring a photocopy of your Baby’s Birth Certificate on the night.  Thank you for your co-operation.

 

Symbols used at Baptism.

Oil:

There are two oils used in the Baptism Ceremony:

Oil of Catechumens. b) Oil of Chrism.

Before Baptism the child is anointed on the chest with the Oil of Catechumens praying for the strength to grow and live as a Christian.

After Baptism the child’s head is anointed with Oil of Chrism as a sign of a special calling as a Christian.

2. The Christening Robe:

After their Baptism the first Christians wore white for a week to show they had taken on a new way of life.

3. Baptismal Candle:

The Easter Candle  stands for Christ, the Light of the World. The Baptismal candle is lit from the Easter Candle and given to the parents inviting them to pass on their faith to their newly baptised child.

First ever Tipperary Women’s Mini Marathon!

North Tipp Sports Partnership (NTSP) and South Tipp Sports Partnership (STSP) have joined forces in organising a Women’s 10k event in Thurles on Sunday 19th September at 2pm. Traditional Irish Music Classes

ENJOY PRAYING PROGRAMME

Enjoy Praying is a group programme based on the

Bible.  Its purpose is to support individuals in developing a deeper spiritual life.  There will be six weekly sessions lasting one and a half hours approximately, every Wednesday night at 7.30 in the Pastoral Centre.  It will begin on Wednesday 22nd September.
